North Belfast Detached Youth Work Model
North Belfast Detached Youth Work Model is a 2023 publication by Ardoyne Youth Enterprise on behalf of North Belfast Working Group on Outreach and Detached Youth Work.
It aims is to support youth workers and services involved in outreach and detached youth work or interested in developing their practice.
The publication is accompanied by and OCNNI endorsed course which will be run in the new year.

What we achieved in the last year: our impact report for 22-23
Our Impact Report 22-23 tells you all about our achievements:
- - in training: we ran 21 courses with 10 training partners, and we delivered 190 certificates including 15 newly qualified youth workers.
- - in youth work: we had 3,225 outreach detached engagements; 40 young people attended our summer intervention programmes; our group work involved 56 young people and 4 young volunteers; we delivered 116 mentoring sessions for 20 young people at risk; we referred 43 young people to local youth clubs and services and supported 23 young people with one to one, educational and employability support; our youth outreach food stall provided 280 hot meals for young people over the winter months
- - in welcoming newcomers: we had 204 participants in Small Worlds cultural diversity workshops and 194 participants in multicultural events, days out and visits; we supported over 25 newcomer families and individuals
- - in support for members and partners: we supported 38 youth and community groups through information exchange, advocacy, coordinated planning, OCN courses, support for community festival, technical support and use of our facilities.

Our Impact Report 2021-22
Our Impact Report 21-22 tells you all about our achievements:
- in training: we ran 24 courses for 11 youth and community groups, we delivered 194 certificates at Level 2, and 20 at Level 1. We delivered 16 newly qualified youth workers.
- in youth work: we had 1,554 outreach detached engagements; over 120 young people attended our interface intervention events; our group work involved over 80 young people, we delivered 118 mentoring sessions
- in welcoming newcomers: we had 192 participants in Small Worlds workshops and over 200 participants in multicultural events, days out and visits; we supported over 20 newcomer families and individuals
- in support for members and partners: we ran OCN courses for 11 youth and community groups and 1 school and held 5 networking meetings

Ardoyne Youth Enterprise has put together a Guide to Covid 19 support services for Upper North Belfast, published in partnership with North Belfast Advice Partnership and distributed through North Belfast Foodbank.
Groups and individuals are welcome to download a copy. You can also refer to our online guide, which is a bit messier but more detailed: www.ardoyne.org/whats-on-in-ardoyne.html You are welcome to tell us about other services you know of: [email protected]. Get Your Voice Heard report
On Wednesday 9 January 2019, Ardoyne Youth Enterprise organised a youth engagement event with Belfast Lord Mayor Deirdre Hargey, Belfast Youth Forum, a young leader from Ardoyne Youth Club, and a representative from the Urban Villages Initiative:
· to inspire young people in North Belfast to participate in decision-making in their community and in wider society;
· to give them an opportunity to share their issues and concerns with decision-makers.
There was a short Q&A session and a ‘post-it’ consultation of the under 25s in the room.
This report lists the young people's responses to the consultation.
